lineage notes
Lee K Tong began his Martial Arts training during his youth from his father in Hung Gar and Tai Chi. After 1968 Sifu Lee moved near his distant uncle and was introduced to Master Chow Tze Tong also know as Chow Tze Cheun where he was shown the Ip Man lineage wing chun. Shortly after that he had moved to America to focus on opening up a Chiropractic and Oriental Medicine Shop. He lead a simple life while building his Chinese Medicine shop, Sifu Lee took in occasional students to teach them wing chun. It is unknown today how many disciples he had passed his teachings on to, but it is my estimate that he only taught less than 10 disciples.
--------- The following is disputed and is unprovable information. There is no record of Sifu Lee in California and apparently Garrett Gee, a Dr Wang disciple, never heard of Sifu Lee. This does not make the following untrue, just unprovable and suspect. ----------
When he turned 16 years old his affinity for martial arts gained the attention of Dr Wong Ming (also spelled Dr Wang Ming). When Grand Master Wong showed him Hung Fa Yi also called Hung Suen Wing Chun Sifu Lee immediately fell in love with the system. It took awhile for Sifu to get Grand Master Wong to teach him Hung Fa Yi / Hung Suen because up until Dr Wong, the system was usually only passed on to family members and close known associates. After some time of requesting Dr Wong finally decided to teach Sifu Lee in the Hung Fa Yi / Hung Suen system. This occured during 1960 - 1968 after that time Sifu Lee moved near his distant uncle and was introduced to Master Chow Tze Tong also know as Chow Tze Cheun where he was shown the differences between the Hung Fa Yi / Hung Suen and Ip Man lineages.
