Shaolin Monk, Sung Lee (Xiong Li) fled communist China for Korea after spending his life in dedication to Chinese Gung Fu , Toaism and Chan Buddhism. He established a Temple near Suwon in South Korea where different Martial Arts were taught in harmony within different areas of the grounds. This is keeping with the tradition of Shaolin.
Sifu Lee taught the Wing Chun system from the true Shaolin Temple (not the sport Wushu) as well as the Yip Man system from Moy Yat (The student with the most time with Yip Man) along side the array of Shaolin Gung Fu systems that were part of his life. The original Wing Chun was passed to him in secret but after meeting Moy Yat, he was intrigued with what Yip Man had done for the art. According to him, Yip Man was the evolution of Wing Chun and had continued the practice of improving and shedding what was unnecessary.
According to the Wing Chun society of Korea, Sifu Lee admired Yip Man for what he did with the art outside of China.
