Trained with Yip Man around 1956 or so at a gymnasium on Lee Tat Street at Yau Ma Tei.
Siu Yuk Men was one of the earliest students of Ip Man, and one of his few closed door students to learn the whole Wing Chun system from him. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Ving Tsun Athletic Association (VTAA) since 1979 and has held the following positions: Chairman: 1996-1997, 1999-2000, 2006-2007, 2007-2008 Head of Membership Committee: 2010-2011
Siu Yuk Men is also an accomplished instructor of Chi Gung, a Chinese exercise practice, and has published several books on the subject and is noted as one of the primary teachers of Chi Gung within Hong Kong.
