Tristan Fung has attained Level 5 in 'Grandmaster Jim Fung's Wing Chun Kung Fu(R)' and is a Senior Instructor at the International Wing Chun Academy in Australia.
Tristan also maintains recognition as a 'Sifu' through Yip Man's Hong Kong Ving Tsun Athletic Association.

Tristan Fung is the son of Grandmaster Jim Fung, who introduced the Chu Shong Tin lineage of Wing Chun to Australia in the 1960s.
Tristan commenced training at Grandmaster Jim Fung's school, the 'International Wing Chun Academy', in 1991. He trained diligently throughout childhood, regularly attending classes at the Academy and training privately under Grandmaster Fung. From his early teenage years, he was permitted to join his father during his private training sessions with Chu Shong Tin in Hong Kong. By 17, Tristan had achieved a 'Level 1' standard (black-belt equivalent) and became a fully qualified Wing Chun instructor. During this time, he was also actively involved in developing the IT infrastructure that supported the Academy's operations and government-accredited courses.
Following the death of Grandmaster Jim Fung in March 2007, Tristan assumed a de facto leadership role within the International Wing Chun Academy to ensure the continuity of its operations. He continued his training under the guidance of Chu Shong Tin, who pledged to support the Academy and made numerous trips to Australia to teach Tristan and many other senior instructors, who continued to train amongst themselves to develop their skills. Tristan's role at the International Wing Chun Academy continued to grow over the years, and he is now its Principal Instructor and Managing Director, overseeing a team of dozens of instructors and many hundreds of students at its schools around Sydney, Australia.
