SI FU SLAVKO TRUNTIĆ ( SLAVKO TRUNTIC / 1938. - .... )
Slavko Truntić was born in Croatia in 1938., and he resides in Zagreb, Croatia. In his youth he trained ( in Ex Yugoslavia ), judo, jujitsu, karate and kobudo ( nuchaku, tonfa, sai, chain... ) and he is a holder of 3. DAN Black belt in Judo and Jujitsu, 4. DAN Black Belt in Karate, and 7. DAN Black Belt in Nunchaku, and other weapons, but for chain he never able to obtain any recognized qualification, because it did not exist ( in Ex Yugoslavia ).
Like active karate master in Ex Yugoslavia, he went in 1973. to London, for an Karate International Championship, and on this karate championship were few other martial arts performed, and one of the performed martial arts, was also Wing Chun, demonstrated from Master Greco Wong. After that demonstration, Slavko Truntić become interested in Wing Chun like martial style, and has aquired a large number of kung fu books, and one of the books, was „Wing Chun kung fu“, by Clausnitzer/Wong, by which book he began practicing Wing Chun kung fu.
After he start to train Wing Chun kung fu, he went in 1975. to Kiel ( Germany ), and he was present on Wing Tsun demonstration which held by the Master Leung Ting from Hong Kong. From that time Slavko Truntić becomes a keen supporter of Wing Tsun kung fu, and for the sake of his own personal development in kung fu training, he makes contact with Wing Chun masters in Europe, and especially with Master K. R. Kernspecht from Germany.
Also in 1975., Slavko Truntić like Nunchaku master, publishes a booklet „NUNCHAKU / Trunta ryu“ by Slavko Truntić.
In 1977., he advanced in his Wing Chun training, and in an effort to mass and popularize Wing Tsun kung fu in Ex Yugolavia, he publishes a book „KUNG FU WU SHU“ by Slavko Truntić. Same book is reissued in next coming years / 1978.,1979.,1980., 1981., .....
From 1977. till 1979. Slavko Truntić together with Milan Prosenica went at Wing Tsun seminars in Vienna, Frankfurt, Heidelberg, Neckarsteinach, and other seminars, and in 1979. he made a personal contact with Master Leung Ting from Hong Kong, who praised his book “KUNG FU WU SHU”, and promised him his help in spreading Wing Tsun in Ex Yugoslavia. In January 1979. in Zagreb, coming Master K. R. Kernspecht, leader of the E.W.T.O. ( European Wing Tsun Organization ), and holds first seminar for Wing Tsun kung fu, and this is offically beginning of Wing Tsun development in Ex Yugoslavia, and Zagreb school of Wing Tsun becoming internationally recognized, and Slavko Truntić becomes first Wing Tsun Sifu in Ex Yugoslavia with the license of the E.W.T.O. for holding Wing Tsun seminars in Ex Yugoslavia. Same year 1979., coming in Zagreb Master Leung Ting from Hong Kong, and holds seminar for future Wing Tsun instructors and students, and gives the Slavko Truntić a license for holding seminars and for assigning levels in Wing Tsun and appointed him the only legitimate representative of Wing Tsun in Ex Yugoslavia.
On the day, 1.1.1980., Slavko Truntić, established Yugoslavia Wing Tsun Orgnization ( Jugoslavia Wing Tsun Organization, J.W.T.O. ), and same year Master Leung Ting who came in Zagreb and held a seminar, appointed Milan Prosenica for the assistant instructor in J.W.T.O. Also after seminar in Zagreb, Master Leung Ting holds seminar in Belgrade and big presentation in Hall Pinki / Belgrade ( Serbia ).
In 1980, Slavko Truntić publishes a book “WING TSUN KUEN” by Leung Ting, ( translated on Croatian language like Ex Yugoslavia issue ). Same book is reissued in next coming years… 1981., and also like former karate master, he also publishes a book “KARATE WITH FULL CONTACT” by Slavko Truntić.
In 1981., again coming in Ex Yugoslavia, Master Leung Ting from Hong Kong, and holds seminars together with Slavko Truntić in Zagreb, Sefkerin ( Serbia ) and Pančevo ( Serbia ). Master Leung Ting also held a Wing Tsun seminars every year in Ex Yugoslavia till 1987.
Slavko Truntić, together with his assistant Milan Prosenica, spread Wing Tsun is Ex Yugoslavia, and in other East Europe countries ( Hungary, Poland, and other countries ), and also assistant instructors becomes Božidar Gaberšek ( Serbia ), Marijan Mikša ( Zagreb, Croatia ), Krunoslav Bagadur ( Zagreb, Croatia ) and Dušan Radojević ( Sisak, Croatia ). In latter years assistant instructors becomes Mario Poljak ( Zagreb, Croatia ), Zoran Barac ( Zagreb, Croatia ). Slavko Truntić appointed later Krunoslav Bagadur also as a Wing Tsun instructor, and also Mario Poljak as a Wing Tsun instructor and Zoran Barac also as a Wing Tsun instructor. Slavko Truntić also appointed many other Wing Tsun practitioners into a assistant instructor level or instructor level but due to lack of information, we do not have complete facts about the exact dates and names of the practitioners who was in Wing Tsun organization and get assistant instructor level or instructor level, so that could be named and put in this text with all data.
In year 1982., Slavko Truntić, with Milan Prosenica and few other students from Ex Yugoslavia, traveled in Hong Kong where he visited Master Leung Ting, and also trained Wing Tsun with him, and also went on the Hong Kong Full Contact Tournament, on which tournament he get First award for the weapons demonstration ( one nunchaku, two nuchaku, and three part nuchaku/Tiger tail nunchaku ). Also on this Hong Kong Full Contact Tournament, one of Slavko Truntić students, Emir Demir, in fight with famous Ron Van Clief, he knocked out Ron Van Clief.
Same year 1982., Slavko Truntić publishes a two books, “116 WING TSUN DUMMY TECHNIQUES as demonstrated by Grandmaster Yip Man”, by Yip Chun and Leung Ting ( translated on Croatian language like Ex Yugoslavia issue ), and “SEVEN STAR PRAYING MANTIS KUNG FU” by Lee Kam Wing and Leung Ting ( translated on Croatian language like Ex Yugoslavia issue ).
How he spread teaching of Wing Tsun in Ex Yugolavia and in a countries of Eastern Europe, in 1985. Slavko Truntić becomes a founder and a leader of E.E.W.T.O. ( East Europe Wing Tsun Organization ) which is now under the leadership of Master Norbert Maday from Hungary.
On the 1st. December 1985., Slavko Truntić become a member of a VING TSUN ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION, and he is registered and recognized as a Ving Tsun Kung Fu instructor.
During his many years of activity in various martial arts and Wing Tsun/Wing Chun, he published 1986. two booklets, “IRON FIST” by Slavko Truntić, and “SHAOLIN KUNG FU, Long range fist” ( text translated from english text issued in China Sport Magazine ), and next year 1987. he publishes a booklet “108 MOVEMENTS OF THE SHAOLIN WOODEN-MEN HALL” by Leung Ting ( translated on Croatian language like Ex Yugoslavia issue ). In year 2002., together with Milan Prosenica, publishes a booklet “CHI GERK” by Slavko Truntić and Milan Prosenica issued in Ptuj, Slovenia, in private issue under the name of International Ving Tchun Pro One Kung Fu Organization / Ptuj, Slovenia, which organization held Milan Prosenica.
After Wing Tsun, in year 1989., he started to learn Yi quan, with master Li Xianming, and also from this master learn different Qi gong methods. Later, he also exchange the knowledge with different kung fu and martial arts masters, and he train Wing Chun on internal way, and also he train some other internal kung fu styles with various masters.
Like former judo, jujitsu and karate master, and now as a Wing Chun master, Slavko Truntić made a great contribution for a developing martial arts and Wing Tsun/Wing Chun in a countries of former Ex Yugoslavia, and in other east Europe countries, and he gave a knowledge in Wing Chun and other martial arts to a many today’s Wing Chun masters, so we can thank him for the enthusiasm and the time what he devoted in teaching others.
