Our supplemental courses offered in Meditation, Tai Chi, or Yoga are taught by varying certified instructors. Please check our schedule for classes offered. All of our classes start with conditioning and stretching exercises, progressing into basics and finishing with forms and techniques. Certified instructors teach our classes with an occasional beginning class taught by our own certified Assistant instructors. Our Mission 1.To offer a program that builds self-defense, self-confidence, and health. 2. To provide a safe and supportive environment that encourages our members to train and improve their health. 3. To inspire others to excellence by living daily the ideals and values that exemplify true virtuous Character. Our classes start with light conditioning and stretching exercises designed for all age groups, progressing into basics and finishing with forms, techniques, and drills. Certified instructors teach our classes with an occasional beginning class taught by an assistant instructor. Weng Chun 永春 is not the same as the commonly known Wing Chun. The "e" in Weng Chun stands for Eternal Spring. This is not the same as the commonly known Yip Man Ving Tsun or Wing Chun taught in most schools. The difference between these two is derived from the source of the techniques. The linkage in our teaching was passed down through Tang Yik. Tang Yik Weng Chun is a family-style originating from the teachings of Chi Sim 至善禪師 at Fei Loi Temple. Weng Chun with an "E" is one of the rarer forms of the art held in secrete for many years. The Tang family were one of the original inheritors of the art originating from the monk Abbot Chi Sim (至善禪師). The art is designed to defeat an attacker as quickly as possible by immobilizing or restricting the opponent's movements before delivering a strike. The system is designed for the average person of all ages to protect themselves against an attacker. The system is composed of the Tang family Weng Chun Kuen form, Tang family Dummy form, and Shung Kuen, a form for developing axle turning and footwork, Luk Dim Bun Gwan (6 ½ Longpole) and Gwan Jong (Longpole Dummy). Other sets included in the Tang Family Linkage also included Fung Siu Ching's Dummy form (aka Red Boat Dummy) and Fung Siu Ching's Jong Kuen, a set developed from the Red Boat dummy which includes advanced footwork. Fung Siu Ching was a student of the Red Junk Opera performer Dai Fa Min Kam and traded techniques with Tang Yik father Tang Suen. Eternal Spring Weng Chun does not have the classical sticky hand drills seen in the traditional square Yip Man lineage. Instead, it uses a more rounded approach to developing the ability to sensing hands. The system's basic form is called Weng Chun Kuen and was so named after the Eternal Spring Hall of Fei Loi 飛來寺
