Sifu Mike Hall started Wing Chun kung fu in Wellington, NZ. He finished his training in Hanoi Vietnam at the Dai Viet Vo Kung fu school under Dai Sifu Bach Ngoc Phu. Vietnamese WingChun has a heavier emphasis on application than theory. In his time in Vietnam he tested his Wing Chun training in the arenas of boxing, kickboxing and full contact karate. On his return to New Zealand he founded the Eternal Dragon school of Martial Arts and trained instructors Phu Nguyen, Ringi John, Harry Chen, Theo Viatos, Erik Kaprielov, Fabiano Petroni, Conal Casey-Potter, Roy Henderson and Zinnia Davis to instructor level.
